We are pleased to announce that following a fully booked, highly successful weekend of workshops with Mr. Soffer last April, he has accepted an invitation to come back to our
studio. Seats will be given in the May workshops based upon receipt of application via email and payment of the tuition by phone. There are 4 sessions over the weekend with 14 actors in each.
When your application is received and reviewed, you will be called for payment. Those who do not make the cut off will be placed on a waiting list but will not be contacted until the next opportunity arises.
TV AUDITION WORKSHOP with Television Casting Director Geoffrey Soffer
This 3-hour workshop is designed to sharpen television audition skills, in addition to gaining a better understanding of what it takes to be cast in sitcoms and dramas. Each actor will be "cast " by
Mr. Soffer in a sitcom or drama audition scene to be prepared for the workshop. The workshop begins with a discussion about "Marketing Your New York Career From Philly" and a Q&A session.
Following the discussion, each actor will work on-camera for feedback and coaching in a constructive, yet supportive environment.
Actors are asked to bring a VHS tape to the workshop if they wish to record their work.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Geoffrey Soffer is the casting director of the hit television series "Ugly Betty". He also cast the TV series "The Beautiful Life" produced by Ashton Kutcher for The CW. From 2003-2008, he
was a casting executive at ABC where he cast pilots, movies of the week and miniseries including "Ugly Betty", "Army Wives" (Lifetime), "Miss/Guided", and "Dirty Sexy Money".
Geoff served as Casting Associate at the Tony Award winning Roundabout Theater Company and Jim Carnahan Casting where he collaborated on Broadway and Off-Broadway productions. Since 1999,
Geoff has served as an instructor in the University of California at Irvine's New York Satellite semester program. Since 2003, Geoffrey has taught a TV audition class at Brown University/Trinity Rep's MFA Acting
program. He has also lectured at Carnegie Mellon, Rutgers University, American University, Temple University, Shenandoah University, University of the Arts, and Howard University. Last spring, he was a 2009 National
Society of Arts and Letters Judge in Washington DC. Geoffrey is a member of Casting Society of America.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SATURDAY WORKSHOPS ARE FOR ADULTS WHO ARE WORKING ACTORS. IT IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS.
THE SUNDAY WORKSHOPS ARE FOR STUDENTS WHO HAVE TRAINING UNDER THEIR BELT AND ARE SERIOUS ABOUT PURSUING A CAREER IN THIS FIELD.

Talent files without a headshot will not be eligible for the workshop as Mr. Soffer needs to see one in order to cast you in an appropriate scene for your on-camera work with him.
