Represent!

Represent! is a short social satire that mocks our society's tendency
to judge others based on their outward appearance.
The first day back at school proves to be more eventful
 than anyone could have thought.
 
They will audition Union and Non-Union talent.
Auditions will be May 9th - 11th.
Auditions will be scheduled by appointment.
Shooting will take place May 30 - June 1, 2008.
 They will be shooting in the University City area.

There is no pay but talent will receive meals,
compensation for travel expenses
and a copy of the final piece.

    They are casting the following roles:

    Timothy - Caucasian Male, Teenager (willing to cast older to play teen)
    Streetwise protagonist, who ironically doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut.
     
    John - Caucasian Male, Teenager (willing to cast older to play teen)
    Timothy's nerdy friend who is longing to get the attention of a fellow student.
     
    Jackie - Caucasian Female, Teenager (willing to cast older to play teen)
    The most popular girl in school and object of John's affection.  The only thing is, she
    couldn't care less about him.

    Adam - African American Male, Teenager (willing to cast older to play teen)
    Timothy and John's classmate, who is put off by Timothy's big mouth.

    Mr. Jacobs - Caucasian Male, 40's to early 50's
    Teacher tired of constantly having to come into work, year after year, dealing with
    unappreciative students.

    Nancy
    - Female, Open Ethnicity, Teenager (willing to cast older to play teen)
    Homely girl, with thick glasses, who tries to dismiss Timothy's advances.

Crossroads

In the short film Crossroads, a high school graduation comes to
a halt when Rose Singleton, a senior and wheelchair user,
is singled out as a hero for making her way up a
wheelchair ramp. She retaliates with quiet provocation -
breaking away from the ceremony - but instead of shaming the crowd
she embarrasses her parents, the two people
who are truly on her side.

They will audition Union and Non-Union talent.
There will be an open call Sunday, May 11, 2008 from 1 - 6 PM
at Temple University, Annenberg Hall, Rm 14
Additional auditions will be scheduled by appointment.
Shooting will take place June 11-16, 2008.
They will be shooting in the Springfield Area.

There is no pay, but credit, food, and
 a final copy of the product, will be provided.

    They are casting the following roles:

    Rose Singleton - Female, High School senior, Open Ethnicity
    Wheelchair user. Quietly defiant, internal, intense.  History of self-alienating behavior.
    Auditions for Rose Singleton will be scheduled by appointment.

    Tom Singleton - Male, late 40's to early 60's, Open Ethnicity
    Father of a disabled daughter. Easily agitated, defensive, prone to antagonism.
    Vulnerable to his daughter's feelings. Relied on to protect the family.

    Helen Singleton - Female, mid 40's to mid 50's, Open Ethnicity
    Mother of a disabled daughter. Burdened by too much responsibility, feels blamed by her
    daughter and criticized by her husband.  Relied on to hold the family together.

    Principal - Male or Female, 50's, Open Ethnicity
    Pitch-perfect educational tone masks lack of emotional investment - checked out years
    ago, but maintains public image. Considering radical career change.

    Natalie Kramer - Female, High School senior, Open Ethnicity
    Class valedictorian, Honor Society, etc. Frustrated, beginning to see that playing by the
    rules doesn't yield what it ought to.  On the verge of a personal rebellion.

    Mr. Mellner - Male, 40's - 50's, Vice Principal, Open Ethnicity
    Impatient, tightly wound, bad temper.  Herds students through finger snaps and whistle
    bursts.  Constantly running around, possibly a little inept.

    There are MANY (approximately 100) smaller featured roles as well (students, parents, teachers, etc.), and everyone who participates will be on camera.

Geography Bee

Geography Bee is a short film about the final question of the
17th Annual Geography Bee. Sammy Newhouse has to
make a decision between an unforgettable summer in Los Angeles
and working a boring summer job with her best friend.
 
They will audition Union and Non-Union talent.
Auditions will be May 2nd and 9th.
Auditions will be scheduled by appointment.
Shooting will take place May 23 - 26, 2008.
 They will be shooting in the Philadelphia and Westmont, New Jersey area.

There is no pay but expenses will be covered by production.

    They are casting the following roles:

    Sammy - Caucasian Female, Age 15-18
     
    Mia - Caucasian Female, Age 15-18
     
    Colin Stein - Male, 30-40, Caucasian
    Cheesy talk show host star, big chin
